08_ Tokyo Tower, Refracted

  • Title: Tokyo Tower, Refracted

  • Year: 2026

  • Dimension: 45H x 65W cm

  • Material: Acrylic and gel medium on Canvas

I digitally manipulated a photograph taken during my

visit to Tokyo before creating this piece. Fragmenting

the original cityscape to exaggerate its perspective,

this work powerfully attracts the viewer’s eye toward

a vanishing point. The repeated lines of architecture

and contrasting blocks of color distort the original

photo and create an almost optical illusion. Through

this reconstruction, I wanted to explore how an urban

environment can become fragmented, redirected,

and manipulated while still retaining real traces of it.
