15_ THINGS THAT WEAR AWAY

This piece utilizes the wear of an F1 tire as a metaphor for

psychological exhaustion. As an aspiring art therapist, I

believe that the human mind can also become worn over

time as a tire does through friction. I sculpted the wheel

with multiple layers of materials, including dry rubber

sheets for the outer layer and metallic wires for the internal.

The exposed textures suggest both mechanical and

emotional deterioration, allowing portrayal of both a

hyperrealistic wheel and  mental fatigue.
