04_Experimental Still Life: Bottled Personalities

A still life composed of a repeating field of plastic

water bottles, each altered through different colors,

textures, patterns, and drawing techniques. I

experimented with acrylic pen, pencil, charcoal,

gouache, and graphic mark-making to give otherwise

identical disposable objects distinct graphic

identities. The repeated bottle forms create a sense

of uniformity, while their individualized surfaces resist

that sameness, turning a mass-produced object into

a study of variation.
